Position Summary:

Registered Nurses – Join Our Team at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital!

 

The Maternal Lactation Registered Nurse supports patients’ individualized feeding goals throughout the inpatient stay, promoting optimal breastfeeding initiation, dose, and duration following discharge. This role proactively protects and advocates for breastfeeding during critical postpartum periods through education, support, and evidence‑based practice.

Qualifications:

 

Education / Training

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Meets all Orlando Health mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for the assigned unit or department

Licensure / Certification

  • Active State of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required
  • Lactation certification preferred; commitment to obtain the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of full‑time clinical experience in one or more of the following areas: Mother‑Baby, Labor and Delivery, NICU, or Pediatrics
  • Candidates with experience in other related clinical specialties may be considered
