Job Title: Registered Nurse – MedSurg / Home Care
Location: New York, NY 
Duration: 13 Weeks
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Shift: Day Shift – Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5x8)

Compensation:

• Weekly Pay: $3,703.20/week (based on experience)

Note: Travel and housing reimbursements are not provided.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in MedSurg and Home Care nursing. The RN will provide direct, individualized nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients in their homes, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and education.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to patients in a home care setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV therapy
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and clinical conditions
• Identify and report adverse reactions or changes in patient condition promptly
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery, and post-operative care
• Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patient care and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

Patient Care Environment:

• Average caseload of 4–8 patients per day
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Focus on post-operative and MedSurg patient support within the home environment

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Active New York State RN License required
• AHA BLS Certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital or post-acute setting required
• Recent true home care experience (providing care in patients’ homes) required
• Strong skills in:
  • Physical assessment
  • Medication administration
  • Wound care & infection control
  • IV therapy
  • Post-operative care
  • Patient education
  • Telemetry monitoring
