" Average daily census is approximately 37 patients
" The unit serves adult and geriatric patients
" Common diagnoses include respiratory distress, possible sepsis, UTI, cellulitis, change in mental status, pain, generalized weakness and abnormal labs
" The unit includes 11 beds designated for chronic tracheostomy/ventilator patients
" Charge nurses may perform peritoneal dialysis as needed
" Trach collar care and suctioning are performed as needed
" Hospitalist coverage is available 24/7...
