Position Title: Registered Nurse – NICU
Location: Apple Valley 92307
Duration: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: Day 3x12-Hour (06:00 - 18:30) 36hr
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
· Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU.
· Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in clinical condition.
· Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency medications safely and accurately.
· Manage and maintain PICC lines, central lines, UAC/UVC, and other vascular access devices.
· Operate and monitor neonatal respiratory support, including CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, ventilators, and oscillators.
· Assist with neonatal stabilization, resuscitation, and high-risk deliveries.
· Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
· Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
· Educate and support parents and families regarding neonatal care and treatment plans.
· Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.
To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]
· Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
· Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience (required).
· Previous travel nursing experience.
· Current BLS (AHA) certification.
· PALS certification.
· Advanced NRP certification (or willingness to obtain before the start date).
· Experience with IV therapy, PICC lines, central lines, UAC/UVC, and neonatal critical care.
· Proficiency in CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, ventilator, and oscillator management.
· Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and patient/family education skills.
· Experience using Epic EMR is preferred.
