Registered Nurse Operating Room

A Registered Nurse – Surgery opportunity is available at a 340+ bed acute care facility in Overland Park, KS — Johnson County's only Level II Trauma Center and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and home to an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center, a Level III NICU, and a Maternal Fetal Health Center. The surgical service performs approximately 500 cases per year across a broad range of specialties.

The role. Reporting to a Manager or Director, the OR RN delivers perioperative care across a diverse case mix that includes trauma, general, ENT, orthopedic, urology, GYN, and neurosurgery. In this role you will evaluate patients prior to surgery, provide patient and family education on the procedure and perioperative process, and assume responsibility for patient preparation including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification. You will participate in briefing, time-out, debriefing, and universal protocol processes in accordance with hospital policy, and will recognize and respond to patient emergencies as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that includes surgeons, providers, and surgical technologists. Scheduling is self/preferential and posted four weeks in advance, and on-call is required during select non-business hours.

What we're looking for.

• 1+ years of recent OR RN Scrub/Circulating experience in the OR required
• Acute care experience is required
• Registered Nurse Diploma
• (RN) Registered Nurse, State of KS License
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule. Full time, with day shift options (five 8-hour days, 6:45 AM start) and night shift options (three 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM start); on-call required.

Compensation. $46.00 - $46.00/hr
