Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a Medical Center in Selma, AL. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of RN work experience.
- Technical Skills: Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred).
- Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- Credentialing Requirements: Clean background check, negative TB test results, annual physical, COVID-19 vaccination, and other requirements as specified by the facility or agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a Circulating Nurse to manage the overall nursing care within the operating room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment and acting as the patient’s advocate before, during, and after surgery.
- Perform and document thorough preoperative patient assessments, verify surgical consents and site, and provide emotional support to alleviate patient anxiety.
- Coordinate the surgical team, equipment, and supplies before and during the procedure, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and anesthesiologist to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and sterile field principles throughout the surgical procedure to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Accurately account for all instruments, sponges, and needles and assist in the safe transfer of the patient to the postoperative recovery area.
