What You'll Do

• Provide specialized OR nursing care for surgical procedures including robotics, neuro-spine, transplant, bariatric, urology, and general surgeries
• Circulate during procedures; scrub experience preferred but not required
• Assist with patient preparation, monitoring, and post-operative care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, surgical techs, and physicians
• Maintain sterile environments and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Participate in holiday and weekend call coverage
• Ensure accurate documentation and patient safety standards

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or compact state
• Minimum 2 years OR experience with neuro, transplant, or robotics preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; CSFA/CSA optional
• Strong clinical skills in OR settings, excellent teamwork, and adaptability
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to arrival

About the Assignment
This position is based in a busy, 13-bed OR suite handling a variety of complex cases such as robotic surgeries, neurovascular procedures, transplants, and bariatrics. The unit supports a collaborative, team-oriented environment with experienced staff and modern equipment like Meditech Expanse EMR and Alaris IV pumps. Travel nurses will undergo hospital orientation followed by a departmental orientation to ensure seamless integration into the team.
