Job Duties
- Manage nursing care from admission to discharge, ensuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care.
- Ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients while performing disease prevention and restorative measures.
- Respond to medical and environmental emergencies efficiently.
Job Accountabilities
- Provide patient care in accordance with unit, department, and hospital policies.
- Coordinate care delivery to maximize efficiency and maintain a safe environment.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing and medical staff to facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care.
- Exercise clinical judgment and critical thinking in all aspects of nursing processes and unit activities.
Assessment
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the patient/family considering various factors.
- Ensure individualized goal-directed patient care through assessment, care plans, education, and discharge planning.
- Monitor patients at risk and implement precautions to reduce risks.
Planning
- Develop and implement the patient's plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and other disciplines.
- Document and communicate patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes with the healthcare team.
- Evaluate and modify care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
