Schedule

  • Shift: Night Shift
  • Hours: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours (3x12-hour shifts)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience to join a mixed-acuity Progressive Care and Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population including PCU, telemetry, surgical, trauma, orthopaedic, and overflow medical patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, telemetry interpretation skills, and the ability to manage complex patient conditions in a fast-paced acute care setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; identify and manage dysrhythmias
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, insulin infusions, and cardiac drips
  • Perform and manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs
  • Care for patients requiring CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, wound vacs, and tracheostomies
  • Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as MI, CVA, renal failure, trauma, orthopaedic, and post-surgical cases
  • Administer blood products and follow anticoagulation and thrombolytic protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and utilize standardized communication protocols (e.g., SBAR)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience within the last 3 years
  • Strong telemetry and critical care nursing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mixed-acuity environment
  • Travelers must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Preferred Certifications

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TCAR experience or certification
