What You’ll Do

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and medical stepdown patients, including those with respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, Sepsis, post-surgical recovery, and cardiac interventions
• Titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, and vasopressors, including medications such as Esmolol, Digoxin, Amiodarone, Dopamine, and more
• Manage and monitor central lines, chest tubes, traches, and various drains/tubes
• Conduct patient assessments, administer medications, and perform wound care
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including CNAs, RTs, unit secretaries, and hospitalists, to deliver optimal patient outcomes

What You Need

• Required:
  • Active RN license in Louisiana
  • 2+ years of recent PCU RN experience
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Ability to pass EKG competency exam
• Preferred:
  • LVAD certification (for 2W unit)
  • Experience with cardiac device management and complex patient monitoring
