    • The Clinical Nurse 2 (CN2) Colleague on a pediatric unit is a registered nurse who practices as a full partner on the healthcare team and consistently demonstrates safe, developmentally appropriate care within the organizational professional practice model.

    • The CN2 possesses the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to meet the standards for competent professional nursing practice as outlined in the Clinical Nurse 2 position description addendum.

    • The CN2 demonstrates UPHS organizational behavioral competencies that reflect its mission and are embedded within the professional practice competency domains. The nurse independently provides care to infants, children, and adolescents, applying the nursing process while maintaining accountability for assigned patients and incorporating age-specific and developmental considerations.

    • The CN2 demonstrates competency in the domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person- and Family-Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork. In the pediatric setting, the nurse prioritizes family-centered care, actively engaging parents and caregivers as essential partners in care planning and delivery.

    • The CN2 collaborates closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care across the continuum, with a focus on the unique physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and educational needs of pediatric patients and their families. The nurse continually develops knowledge and skills to provide individualized, developmentally appropriate, and safe care.

    • The CN2 seeks and incorporates feedback while assuming leadership responsibilities and contributes to improving clinical practice. The nurse demonstrates how pediatric nursing practice supports the organization's vision, mission, and goals, as well as the overall care delivery system.

    • The CN2 remains compliant with all regulatory and accrediting body standards relevant to pediatric care.

    • Credentials:

    • Registered Nurse - PA (Required)

    • Current Pennsylvania RN License

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

    • 44504

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
    • Education Specialization: Nursing Equivalent Experience: •1+ years Experience however training and specialty specific education programs are provided during orientation, and must be successfully completed as scheduled
