• Pay Rate: $40.33 $44.33 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night shift 12-hour nights, 18:45 07:15 (3x12); 36 hours can be offered; Every other weekend required

Job Summary

This is a Travel/Contract Registered Nurse position in the Pediatrics unit at a healthcare facility in Charlotte, NC. The unit serves patients ages 0 17, including medical-surgical patients and hematology/oncology patients. The scheduling type is self-scheduling, and the unit operates with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 6.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy (Chemo) to pediatric patients
• Care for patients ages 0 17 with medical-surgical and hematology/oncology diagnoses
• Float to PICU and NICU as required
• Work every other weekend per unit requirement
• Participate in unit orientation (24 hours) and Hospital Orientation week one traveler must be available for classes each day
• Utilize unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
• Participate in self-scheduling

Required Skills

• Ability to administer Chemo
• Proficiency with unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
• Ability to float to PICU and NICU

Preferred Skills

• IV Start & Lab Draw
• CHEMO experience and CHEMO certification preferred

Education Requirements

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Unit will accept first-time travelers if they have 2 years of experience
• Local candidates accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night shift: 12-hour nights, 18:45 07:15
• 36 hours per week can be offered
• Float requirement: YES float to PICU and NICU
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Call requirement: None
• Scrubs not provided; fun kid tops and navy pants required
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• RTO: 7 days maximum for Aya Auto Offer.
• Hospital Orientation week one: traveler must be available for classes each day.
• Unit orientation: 24 hours.
