Matrix Providers has a civilian, contracted opportunity for a Registered Nurse - Psychiatry to provide full-time care to the U.S. military and their families at Kirtland Air Force Base located in Albuquerque, NM.

  • Employment Status: Full-time Employee
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly. $42.40 - $49.40/hr. + H&W $4.57/hr.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour days between 6:30am - 5:30pm, schedule determined with facility

Qualification:

  • Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent RN degree
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLNAC
  • Experience: At least 36 months of total nursing experience in a direct patient care clinical setting. Experience providing services as psychiatric nursing or behavioral health and wellness counseling for 24 recent consecutive months of direct patient specialty care experience.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or the Red Cross. Web-based classes do not meet these standards.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse from any U.S. state/territory.
  • Additionally, certified/certified eligible by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric and Mental health Nurse with 2 years of full-time experience in mental health.

Job Duties:

  • Perform deployment related health assessment (DRHA) and annual mental health assessment (MHA) services that comply with applicable Department of Defense and Air Force policy and guidance, to include required standards of care and clinical practice guidelines.
  • As a member of the Behavioral Health team, the Behavioral Health Care Facilitator (BHCF) provides care facilitation services for patients prescribed psychotropic medications by their Primary Care Manager (PCM) within the primary care environment. This primarily includes the conditions of depression, anxiety disorders, and PTSD. The BHCF monitors adherence to treatments, provides education, coordinates care, and maintains data registries in the execution of primary care behavioral health services.
  • TYPE OF WORK. The duties include but are not limited to the following: BHCF duties as outlined in DoDI 6490.15 Integration of Behavioral Health Personnel Services into Patience-Centered Medical Home Primary Care and Other Primacy Care Service Settings and the BHOP Practice Manual.
  • Although the BHCF may assist the PCM and PCMH in completing a number of nursing tasks, it is imperative that the BHCF is aware of his or her primary responsibility: to serve as a liaison between the patient and the PCM; and to facilitate care for patients newly prescribed long-term and/or daily medications (by their PCM) for anxiety, depression, or PTSD.
  • The BHCF ensures that at least 90% of their time is engaged in their primary work responsibilities.
  • Position will require attendance at a five-day mandatory DoD/Air Force BHCF training, location TBD. Ability to complete training and meet core competencies must be demonstrated within three (3) months of hire. The three-month threshold for demonstration of core competency skills will be extended if the Air Force is unable to provide training opportunities within three-months.
  • Coordinates patient care through a continuum of care and the levels of care to achieve optimal health outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness. Assesses, coordinates, facilitates, and delivers care for adult patients relevant to the practice environment and procedures performed. Provides patient and family education according to credentialed provider’s instruction and documents patient and family understanding.
