Registered Nurse (RN) – Category 1

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care within the Intake, Transfer, and Release (ITR) unit. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare to diverse patient populations within a correctional setting. The selected nurse will work exclusively within the ITR unit and will not be required to float to other facilities.

Available Openings

• 1 PRN Opening
• 1 Day Shift WOC Opening
• • Must commit to 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
  • Minimum 13-week assignment

• Intake, Transfer, and Release (ITR)
• No floating to other jails

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Monitor patient conditions, evaluate treatment outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed.
• Perform routine nursing procedures based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and address pharmacological requirements according to established protocols.
• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy procedures.
• Develop, maintain, and process patient documentation, care plans, and discharge plans.
• Provide health education and patient counseling.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist in orienting and training new employees, students, and contract staff.

Qualifications

Required

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or a participating Compact State.
• Current Primary Source Verification (PSV) through Nursys.
• Current N95 Respirator Fit Test documentation.
• Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a correctional healthcare environment.
