AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 6-month contract at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, CA (Medical unit, 8-hour shifts, 1 week of orientation).

Assignment details

• Location: Mule Creek State Prison, Ione, CA
• Dates: 11/30/2026 - 05/30/2027
• Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM (Days), 30-minute meal
• Orientation: 1 week

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver nursing care to incarcerated patients on a medical unit
• Give medications and treatments and document care accurately
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with providers and custody
• Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

• Active California RN license (BRN)
• Current BLS (AHA)
• Acute care or med-surg experience; correctional experience preferred
• Background check and facility security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
