Job Description
A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join its team in the Bronx, providing nursing care in a residential facility serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 4pm or9am to 5pm
- Setting: Residential facility
Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and respond to emergency health needs of individuals served
- Administer medications and supervise staff in safe medication administration and storage
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical documentation and participate in individual case reviews
- Support and train less experienced nursing staff and Licensed Practical Nurses as needed
- Attend team meetings, in-service sessions, and travel between Bronx program sites as required
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of Nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration
- Current CPR certification
- Experience in Community-based Health Services for individuals with Developmental Disabilities
- Working knowledge of equipment commonly used by individuals receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices
