ResponsibilitiesThe nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to identify patient needs for continuous assessment in the PACU. The nurse will document and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care. The PACU nurse is responsible and accountable for working with other departments to ensure continuity of care. QualificationsJob Requirements: Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)RN with Texas Board of Nursing - OR - current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA is required upon hire.Active PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification is required upon hire.1+ years of experience in a PACU hospital setting.Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.Preferred Job Requirements: Experience with patient safety best practices
