You'll oversee schoolnursing services across entire school buildings near Newark, NJ, ensuring a safe, healthy environment and effective care for diverse student health needs.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- New Jersey School Nurse RN license (required)
- Prior experience in school-based nursing (mandatory)
- Confidence managing both elementary and middle school caseloads
- Expertise in servicing varied student health needs
- Ability to oversee all nursing operations within assigned school facilities
- Comfortable and adaptable in a district environment
- Reliable transportation for daily commute; candidates must live within a reasonable distance
- Willingness to complete onboarding, including TB test, physical, and fingerprints for agency and district
- Only RN candidates considered (no LPNs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering direct nursing care to students and staff
- Administering medications and supporting chronic condition management
- Providing urgent and emergency medical care as needed
- Coordinating care plans with families, staff, and outside providers
- Conducting health screenings and managing immunization records
- Promoting best practices in hygiene, disease prevention, and overall well-being across the school
- Maintaining detailed, compliant medical documentation
