Schedule: 3 Shifts/Week | 12 Hours/Shift | 36 Hours/Week
Shift Timing: 6:45 PM – 6:45 AM

Position Overview

A leading acute care facility is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Surgical Unit team for a 13-week assignment. The RN will provide high-quality care to adult post-surgical patients during night shifts while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to post-surgical and medical-surgical patients
  • Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and recovery progress
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed
  • Accurately assess, document, and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate care plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
  • Respond promptly and effectively to changes in patient condition or emergencies
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control procedures

  • General surgical patients
  • Joint replacement surgeries
  • Hip surgeries
  • Neck and spine/back surgeries

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Unit or Medical-Surgical experience
  • Recent experience caring for post-operative surgical patients required
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Current BLS certification required
