Position Overview
A leading acute care facility is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Surgical Unit team for a 13-week assignment. The RN will provide high-quality care to adult post-surgical patients during night shifts while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to post-surgical and medical-surgical patients
Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and recovery progress
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed
Accurately assess, document, and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate care plans
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
Respond promptly and effectively to changes in patient condition or emergencies
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control procedures

General surgical patients
Joint replacement surgeries
Hip surgeries
Neck and spine/back surgeries
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Unit or Medical-Surgical experience
Recent experience caring for post-operative surgical patients required
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Current BLS certification required
