Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support appointments tailored to the incarcerated population.
- Communicate and provide updates and ensuring understanding of care plans.
- Administer and monitor medications, including bridging prescriptions and verifying medication orders.
- Track patient progress, participate in team huddles, and maintain organized, detailed records.
- Order and follow up on labs as part of comprehensive mental health care.
- Provide educational materials and support to families to enhance understanding of treatment plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic care.
- Advocate for the mental health needs of juveniles while fostering a supportive and empathetic environment.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations specific to the incarcerated population.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license.
- Strong ability to communicate with minors and their families in a compassionate, clear, and professional manner.
- Skilled in medication administration and tracking.
- Commitment to understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by incarcerated individuals in mental health care.
