  • Patient Types: Medical Surgical and telemetry, including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, post-op overflow with Total Joints and GI/Abdominal surgeries
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5-6 during nights, CNA: 2 per shift (or as census dictates)
  • Support Staff: Charge nurse, HUC/Secretary, phlebotomy, RT, hospitalist, OT/PT/ST
  • Charting System: Meditech Expanse
  • Float: Will float to other Med/Surg units as needed
  • Orientation: 2-4 day hospital orientation plus 2 days on-unit
  • Holiday Work: 2/3 holidays, with schedule flexibility
  • Parking: Free designated parking
  • Scrub Color: Pewter; T-shirts: gray, white, black with WK monogram; Jackets: gray or black
  • Other: No on-call; approved time off up to 7 days, with restrictions; mandatory weekend rotations

What You’ll Do
  • Provide expert nursing care to telemetry patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Monitor patient vitals, interpret telemetry data, and respond promptly
  • Manage complex patient needs, including wound care, drains, and pain management
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, RT, PT, and OT
  • Document patient care thoroughly using Meditech Expanse
  • Support float to various Med/Surg units as needed
  • Follow all compliance and safety protocols, including passing an EKG competency exam
What You Need
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1 year if first-time traveler with 2 years of perm staff RN experience)
  • Strong clinical skills in wound management, hemodialysis catheter care, and telemetry
  • Ability to pass EKG competency exam
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
