Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45 07:15); 36 or 48 hours can be offered. If accepting 48 hours, no OT billed until after 48 hours.
  • Travel Requirements: Float Requirement: YES, Floating is Required.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Cardiac Telemetry travel nursing contract on a unit that requires telemetry-experienced nurses capable of managing cardiac arrhythmias, MI, diabetes uncontrolled, DKA, heart failure, post heart catheterization, post PPM, post ICD, and cardiac drips. The unit does not involve titrating for blood pressure. Tele/Stepdown/IMC quality nurses are needed who can handle the same ratios as other units. There are no charge nurses on the unit teamwork is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Manage cardiac drips (no titrating for blood pressure)
  • Care for patients with diagnoses including Cardiac Arrhythmias, MI, Diabetes uncontrolled, DKA, Heart Failure, post heart catheterization, post PPM, and post ICD
  • Operate within a 1:6 patient ratio (Average Daily Census: 23)
  • Fulfill weekend requirement of 8 weekend shifts
  • Float to other units as required
  • Work collaboratively as part of a teamwork-driven unit with no charge nurses
  • Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR

Required Skills

  • MUST HAVE Cardiac Tele experience this is a Cardiac Tele unit
  • IV Start proficiency
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Management of dysrhythmias

Preferred Skills

  • Step-Down (Stepdown) experience

Education Requirements

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Required
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) Required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification Required
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Unit will accept first-time travelers (Stepdown experience preferred)
  • Local candidates accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Night shift: 12-hour shifts, 18:45 07:15
  • Patient ratio: 1:6; Average Daily Census: 23
  • Floating is required
  • 8 weekend shifts required
  • 36 or 48-hour weeks can be offered; if accepting 48 hours, no OT billed until after 48 hours
  • No charge nurses on unit strong teamwork ethic required
  • Scrubs: Navy or white
  • Unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
  • Unit orientation: 3-day orientation first day EPIC training, next two days on the unit

Important Notes

  • RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
  • EKG testing is required prior to start for this specialty.
  • RTO maximum: 7 days for Auto Offer purposes.
