The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is one of the nation's leading history museums and the most visited historic site in North Texas. Located within the historic Texas School Book Depository, the Museum preserves and shared the story of President John F. Kennedy, the assassination of President Kennedy, and the enduring legacy of the 1960s through exhibitions, educational programming, collection and public engagement.
Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, The Sixth Floor Museum has a growing collection of archival materials, photographs, films and three-dimensional objects that preserve one of the most significant moments in American history. As the Museum continues to invest in its collections, this position offers an exciting opportunity to help steward these resources while contributing to the new exhibitions, acquisitions and long-term preservation initiatives.
The Opportunity
The Sixth Floor Museum seeks a detailed-oriented and collaborative Registrar to support the care, documentation and stewardship of the Museum's permanent collection.
Reporting to the Head of Collections & Registration, the Registrar plays a critical role in maintaining accurate collections records, coordinating object movement, supporting exhibitions, processing acquisitions and loans and ensuring the Museum collections are managed to professional museum standards.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys solving complex logistical challenges and is committed to preserving history through exceptional collection management.

This position is full-time and exempt. Compensation is commensurate with experience and aligned with internal compensation structure. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
