Regulatory Analyst Coder

Location: Primarily Remote (Periodic travel to Hyattsville, MD may be required)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $44,000 - $48,000 annually

Important Position Information

This is NOT an Information Technology (IT), software development, computer programming, cybersecurity, or technical coding position.

The term "Coder" in this role refers to the process of classifying, categorizing, organizing, and analyzing regulatory information and data. Responsibilities focus on identifying themes, patterns, relationships, and compliance-related issues within content and records. No programming languages, software development, or technical coding experience is required.

Position Summary

Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seeking a Regulatory Analyst Coder to support an Internet Surveillance Project focused on regulatory compliance, data evaluation, and information management activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical, research, and organizational skills to support a dynamic team responsible for reviewing, classifying, and analyzing regulatory information.

This position is primarily remote but may require periodic travel to the project office in Hyattsville, Maryland, as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply analytical methodologies and regulatory principles to support compliance initiatives and project objectives.

  • Conduct research and review regulatory content, industry data, and advertising materials to identify trends, themes, patterns, and compliance-related issues.

  • Collect, organize, code, and classify data to support analysis and identify relationships within regulatory information.

  • Review and evaluate information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Identify discrepancies, document findings, determine appropriate next steps, and escalate issues when additional guidance is needed.

  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and tracking systems in accordance with project requirements.

  • Support project activities and deliverables to ensure alignment with contract requirements and organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in regulatory analysis, data classification, records management, regulatory support, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to identify trends, themes, patterns, and relationships within regulatory or industry information.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat and database or data-entry systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of information.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively document findings.

  • Ability to interpret and apply established procedures, regulatory guidance, and project requirements to support compliance objectives.

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems and software applications.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
