Job Title: Release Manager

Duration: 12-Month Contract w/ Potential Conversion

Location: Fully Remote

Required Pay Scale: $78-80/hr on W2

• Due to client requirements this role is only open to USC or GC candidates*

Job Summary:

Project Details:

• Own the release calendar. That covers planning, scheduling and coordinating releases across development, QA, UAT and production.
• Run go/no-go meetings, release readiness reviews and post-release retrospectives.
• Manage release pipelines and approval gates in Azure DevOps, working with DevOps engineers on branching strategy, build promotion and environment management.
• Coordinate change management, including change tickets, CAB approvals, maintenance windows and rollback plans.
• Make sure each release meets security, compliance and audit requirements, including scan results and signoffs, before it moves forward.
• Track release scope, dependencies and risks, and communicate status to engineering leads, program management and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement in release automation, deployment frequency and release quality.
• Own release documentation, including release notes, runbooks and deployment checklists.

Must Haves

• 5+ years in release management, build and release engineering, or DevOps in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on Azure DevOps experience, including multi-stage pipelines, release gates, approvals and branching strategies.
• Experience releasing .NET applications to Azure.
• A strong grasp of ITIL change management and CAB processes.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, federal or government, or healthcare.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills across distributed teams.

Desired Skills

• Experience on federal or Treasury programs.
• Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Exposure to ServiceNow change management.
• SAFe or other Agile release train experience.
• An ITIL certification.
