Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client for an entry-level Communications Assistant to join their fully remote team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career communicator to build hands-on experience supporting internal and external messaging, press outreach, and content creation for a growing organization.

Day to day, you will draft copy, help coordinate communications calendars, and support the broader marketing and PR team with research and administrative tasks. People who thrive in this role are curious writers who love learning new subject matter quickly, stay organized across multiple projects, and enjoy collaborating with teammates spread across different time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and proofread press releases, newsletters, and internal announcements
  • Assist in maintaining the editorial and communications calendar
  • Support social media scheduling and light content creation
  • Help compile media lists and track press coverage
  • Coordinate logistics for webinars, town halls, and virtual events
  • Maintain organized digital files for communications materials
  • Monitor news and industry trends for relevant mentions
  • Assist with formatting and distributing internal memos
  • Respond to routine inquiries from media contacts and staff
  • Support the communications team with general administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
  • Basic familiarity with AP style or willingness to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Interest in public relations, marketing, or corporate communications
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home workspace
