The Registered Dietitian plays a critical role in supporting patient health and recovery by delivering comprehensive, evidence-based nutrition services within an inpatient healthcare setting. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with patients, families, and clinical teams to assess nutritional needs, develop individualized care plans, and promote improved health outcomes. Provide comprehensive nutrition services to patients in an inpatient hospital setting
Conduct nutritional assessments, consultations, education, and other assigned nutrition services
Analyze patient health status, nutritional goals, dietary restrictions, and monitor dietary intake and progress
Collaborate with patients, families, and the care team to address individualized nutrition needs
Complete, accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Provide nutrition-related guidance and information to food service leadership and management teams
Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and applicable standards required by accrediting and regulatory agencies
Adhere to state and federal healthcare standards, rules, directives, and clinical guidelines
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and/or Nutrition from an accredited college or university
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Active Licensed Dietitian (LD) credential in the State of Texas
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with physicians, staff, patients, and families
Ability to meet all required immunization standards prior to patient contact
Ability to successfully complete required drug screening and fingerprinting
Completion of all required facility and state-mandated training
Experience providing nutrition services in an inpatient, behavioral health, or institutional healthcare setting
Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and care coordination skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment
Commitment to patient education, wellness, and evidence-based practice
Location: Big Spring, Texas
Work Type: On-site with telework option available
Schedule:
Typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Schedule may adjust based on hospital needs
No holidays, weekends, or after-hours shifts required
