Requirements/Systems Engineer

Location: El Segundo, California (Onsite)

Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.

Role Overview

Our organization is seeking a Requirements and Systems Engineer for a role based in El Segundo, CA. This position involves the development and management of system requirements, with a focus on systems development rather than solely verification and test activities. The role requires collaboration with subsystem engineers to gather technical information and ensure a comprehensive understanding of how individual units integrate into the overall system.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, finalize, and release system specifications.
• Perform requirements development, decomposition, and validation.
• Manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and specifications.
• Utilize DOORS for requirements management.
• Coordinate with subsystem engineering teams to gather technical information.
• Ensure a strong understanding of how units and subsystems fit into the complete system.
• Engage in systems thinking and cross-functional coordination.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Experience with requirements development, requirements decomposition, DOORS, ICDs and specifications, requirements validation, subsystem coordination, and general systems engineering principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Background in satellite or space systems.
• A degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in systems development.
