Research & Development TechnicianSpartanburg, SCMonday- Friday 8AM-5PMStarting pay is $25-26/HR BOE Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and interested in working with polymer technology, product development, and laboratory testing?We are seeking a motivated Research & Development Technician to join the R&D team of a leading global manufacturer in Spartanburg, SC. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a technical laboratory and manufacturing environment while helping develop and improve innovative polymer products.What You’ll Do
Work alongside R&D Scientists to evaluate new polymer formulations and product developments
Conduct assigned laboratory and production trials safely and accurately
Provide analytical support for new customer requirements and manufacturing challenges
Perform compounding, film, bottle, and other product trials
Gather data and assist with troubleshooting process and production issues
Accurately document test results, observations, and trial data
Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
Follow established SOPs, safety procedures, and EH&S requirements
Collaborate with R&D, applications development, manufacturing, and other technical teams
What We’re Looking ForRequired:
Associate degree with 3+ years of experience OR high school diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience in a physical or life sciences laboratory environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures
Ability to accurately document testing, observations, and results
Basic mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pumps, motors, and machine maintenance
Strong computer skills for recording and managing data
Ability to multitask and work independently
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Safety-focused mindset with the ability to recognize and communicate potential hazards
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of organic chemistry
Experience with polymer synthesis or polymer processing
Hands-on experience with laboratory analytical and characterization equipment
