The UCLA Senior, Cognitive, and Affective Neurodevelopment (SCAN) Laboratory within the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to support innovative research examining sensory processing and neurodevelopment in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This position offers hands-on experience in clinical research, neuroimaging, behavioral assessments, and data analysis. Key responsibilities include:
The department's typical operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-6pm. Staff may occasionally be scheduled during evenings or weekend hours based on research participants needs. Employees should expect to work approximately 2-3 weekends per month, with weekday schedules adjusted to maintain a 40-hour workweek.
Salary range: $30.12/hr - $35.92/hr
Job Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field (preferred)
Experience with behavioral, psychophysiological, or neuroimaging research methods (preferred)
Experience working with pediatric, neurodevelopment, autism spectrum disorder, or other clinical populations
Comfort working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Ability to interact professional with research participants and families from diverse backgrounds
Minimum 1 year of experience supporting research projects in a laboratory, academic, clinical research, or related research environment (preferred)
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary research team
Ability to maintain accurate research records and documentation
Experience with research databases or electronic data capture systems, such as REDCap (preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of MRI research procedures, data processing software, or neuroimaging analysis tools (preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
