Research lab technician

Research lab technician needs 1+ years research/ genomics lab experience

Research lab technician requires:

• 3-6 month prior experience in a Core or Research lab setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to communicate internally with co-workers and externally with Facility clients.
• Sanger sequencing
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented with strong sense of work ownership.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

Research lab technician duties:

• Work closely with other facility staff to ensure timely delivery of samples to PIs. (20%) Other Facility related functions as needed.
• Rigorous in keeping records related to the Sanger data production pipeline
• Update clients on project progress as needed.
• Performs other related work as needed.
• Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
• Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
• Performs other related work as needed.
