Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Coordinator II for the Rutgers Center for State Health Policy (Center/CSHP) within the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research (IFH), a unit of Rutgers Health. This position requires basic research skills (e.g,. literature reviews, IRB submissions, quantitative and qualitative research approach coordination, spreadsheet tracking of deliverables) and project coordination experience (e.g,. management of workplan and timelines, developing progress reports, and engaging with external collaborators) to support the Center's broad health services research portfolio. The selected candidate will receive strong policy and research mentorship from the a talented team of faculty and research staff at the Center. The Research Project Coordinator II will be given the opportunity to participate in policy meetings with senior state officials, and will have the opportunity to contribute to peer reviewed publications as appropriate.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Identifies tasks and complete activities for quantitative and qualitative approaches as required for specific research projects .
  • Conducts rigorous literature reviews to inform the development of interview protocols and related documents.
  • Drafts interview materials including questionnaires and consent forms.
  • Prepares and submits E IRB applications, and manages ongoing human subjects compliance.
  • Drafts findings reports and presentations for PI review.
  • Conducts literature reviews, performs qualitative interviewing, and maintains Excel spreadsheets to track project deliverables.
  • Maintains project work plans to ensure that timelines are met and deliverables are received from internal and external members of the project teams.
  • Schedules project meetings and prepares agendas and other necessary materials as requested by the project PI.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a research and/or research administrative function, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. A Master's degree may be substituted for 1 year professional experience.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to translate research findings and concepts to both academic and non-academic audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Public Health or equivalent degree in a field relevant to health policy and services research.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities policy.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policy.
