Pay Range: $57,000 - $61,000

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5:30pm, plus on call duties.

 JOB SUMMARY 

The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. The Resident Care Supervisor must exhibit genuine interest in residents and show patience and understanding while working with residents, families and visitors. Assist professional nursing staff by performing duties in caring for residents of the community. Work under the supervision of the Resident Care Coordinator to provide the following: transfer/transport, bathe, and dress residents; comb hair, clean teeth, assist with incontinent care and toileting; make beds, assist residents with eating, follow and complete task/assignments; provide safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents, document on the daily log each shift, and report changes in condition of residents immediately to their supervisor.

POSITION OVERVIEW

• Maintain privacy of team members and obtain confidentiality with information received regarding residents and team members
• Perform duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized standards.
• Provide maximum resident care within limits defined by delegated tasks • Ambulate and transfer residents utilizing appropriate assistive devices, body mechanics and gait belts when specified in resident-negotiated service plan and per company policy
• Routinely turn and position residents
• Assist with development and review of resident care plans in conjunction with other disciplines
• Ensure resident privacy, respect and dignity
• Assist in orienting and training new resident care managers • Participate in and attend monthly in-service meetings, all training and department meetings
• Assist in daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment of residents, such as toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, care of hair and nails, moving residents from area to area, responding to calls, etc
• Detect and correct situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents • Complete all filing as directed by Resident Care Coordinator.
• Lead or participate in the Life Enrichment Program and activities as assigned. Provide one on one time for those not able to participate.

QUALIFICATIONS

• License/Certification: Successful completion of state approved Medication Administration training, First Aid certification as required by the ALF regulations.
• Education/Experience: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer some previous experience in healthcare, must have experience working in Assisted Living or Memory Care with a good work record, and experience administering medication in an assisted living setting. Must be capable of making decisions with the interest of the residents at heart and supportive of company policies and decisions.
• Continuing Education: as required by law and must attend monthly in-service education and training within the community.
• Other: Must be able to read and write English. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc. must have good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral directions. Provide maximum resident-care services within limits defined by delegated tasks. Must show good judgement in recognizing symptoms indicative of a resident’s change in condition. Work with licensed nurses; be aware of limitations and not attempt to exceed those limitations.

 JOB KNOWLEDGE

Understanding of standard techniques and procedures used in providing personal services for resident and in caring for equipment and supplies. Good understanding of the basis of universal precautions to avoid infection of residents and self or contamination of equipment and supplies.
