    Resident Forklift Technician

    Compensation Range: Based on Experience + $2,000 Sign-on Bonus

    JOB SUMMARY

    Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial vehicles, including forklifts, railcar movers, container handlers, and terminal tractors at a designated customer location. As a Resident Technician, you will serve as the primary on-site service professional, providing routine maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown repairs, and equipment support while building strong customer relationships. Prioritize work orders, comply with safety requirements, and ensure all service documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time. Maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and assets while delivering exceptional customer service.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform repairs to minimize downtime and maximize customer productivity.
    • Perform routine scheduled maintenance, inspections, and preventative maintenance according to manufacturer and customer requirements.
    • Repair or replace defective components, lubricate moving parts, and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and mechanical systems.
    • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to fabricate and repair parts as needed.
    • Inspect equipment and used parts to determine wear and recommend repairs based on manufacturer specifications.
    • Review completed repairs and maintenance findings with customer contacts, communicating equipment status and maintenance recommendations.
    • Generate repair estimates and identify opportunities for additional service work when needed.
    • Utilize the Mobile Service application to complete work orders, document repairs, capture customer signatures, and close jobs accurately.
    • Maintain a strong on-site presence by partnering with customer personnel to proactively identify and resolve equipment issues.
    • Provide daily status updates to service leadership and communicate customer concerns, operational issues, and equipment needs.
    • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Vocational or technical certification preferred.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 2+ years of experience in a service technician, maintenance technician, forklift technician, or related role.
    • Previous experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, and computer diagnostics.
    • Ability to interpret and apply electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams.
    • Valid Driver''s License and driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing priorities.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
    • Ability to maintain positive customer relationships and represent Towlift on-site.
