Title: Resident Services Coordinator

Location: Mission District & South Park, San Francisco, CA

Pay: $26-29 per hour

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Contract Length: 3-6 months, contract-to-hire

Job Description:

The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) provides direct support, advocacy, and case management services to residents, with a focus on housing stability, community engagement, and access to critical resources. This role requires a hands-on, action-oriented individual who can build strong relationships, take initiative, and maintain consistent, reliable performance in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide resident support through case management, including intakes, assessments, service plans, and ongoing follow-up
  • Connect residents to community resources such as healthcare, public benefits, and social services
  • Plan and facilitate workshops, events, and community programming
  • Support housing stability by addressing lease-related concerns and assisting with conflict resolution
  • Conduct wellness checks and provide advocacy for residents
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local nonprofits and service providers (especially within San Francisco)
  • Manage office hours, including both walk-ins and scheduled appointments
  • Lead group meetings and effectively manage group dynamics
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and documentation in compliance with program requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • ~2+ years of experience in case management, community services, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations
  • Highly reliable with a strong work ethic, consistency, and professionalism
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of community resources and public benefits (San Francisco experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with case management systems is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or Cantonese/English) highly preferred


Additional Details:

  • Ideal candidates may come from backgrounds in teaching, family resource centers, youth services, or adult education
  • Open to recent graduates with ~2 years of experience who demonstrate strong initiative and leadership potential
  • Role requires strong boundaries, emotional intelligence, and the ability to balance empathy with accountability
  • For SRO environments: must be confident, resilient, and able to work with individuals who are homeless or formerly homeless
  • Candidates should be comfortable managing challenging situations, enforcing rules, and maintaining professionalism
  • References will be required and should speak to reliability, consistency, and work ethic
