Residential Electrical Service Manager

For 20 years, Kanon Electric has been serving homeowner throughout Pierce and South King Counties. As we continue building for the future, we're looking for an experienced Residential Electrical Service Manager who is passionate about developing people, building strong teams, and helping great technicians succeed. .

The Service Manger is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, development, and performance of our residential electrical service technicians. This role combines strong people leadership with operational oversight, performance coaching, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

You'll have the opportunity to lead and develop a team of skilled service and installation technicians, work directly with company ownership, and play an important role in shaping the next stage of our business.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead and develop technicians – Recruit, onboard, coach, mentor, and develop service technicians. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide meaningful feedback, recognize accomplishments, and address performance concerns constructively. 
• Manage departmental performance –  Establish clear performance expectations, monitor key performance indicators including revenue, close rate, average ticket, productivity, and customer satisfaction, and use these metrics to identify coaching and improvement opportunities.
• Build a strong team culture – Foster positive working relationships, encourage open communication, promote teamwork, and create an environment where employees feel supported, valued, and accountable. Promote employee engagement and retention through consistent leadership and professional development.
• Oversee service operations - Work closely with dispatch and office leadership to maximize technician productivity, coordinate resources, maintain service standards, and ensure efficient daily operations. 
• Maintain customer focus - Support technicians in delivering exceptional customer experiences, resolve escalated customer concerns, and insure work meets company quality and safety standards. 
• Drive continuous improvement - Lead service meetings and training, identify opportunities to improve departmental performance, and collaborate with company leadership on operational strategies and growth initiatives. 

Requirements:

• Proven experience successfully leading technicians in a residential electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or comparable home-service business.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing field technicians.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to build strong relationships while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
• Experience managing technician performance through measurable KPIs
• Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through
• Understanding of residential service operations, profitability, and customer service
• Residential electrical industry experience highly preferred
• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar home-service management software preferred.

Base Salary: $90,000-$130,000 annually, depending on experience and demonstrated leadership capability, plus performance-based bonus opportunity.
