    For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

    NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

    Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

    PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

    Qualifications:

    BA/BS Degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Planning, Physical Science, Biology, or Ecology with minimum additional experience of 5 year(s) in Project Management and Planning in a natural science field

    • Facilitation; collaboration in the Natural, Cultural, and Facilities realms; excellent written and verbal communication, and data-driven decision making.
    • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
    Duties:

    The enrollee will use their expertise in planning and project management to support the execution of specialized natural resource planning projects such as climate change vulnerability assessments and adaptation actions in national parks of the Pacific West Region.

    • Support communication with cooperators, partners, or parks by helping prepare brief updates, summaries, or background materials. Assist with responding to information requests or data calls.   20%
    • Attend Network level meetings, extended Leadership Team meetings, and other relevant forums to stay informed, then synthesize and share key information, decisions, and action items with Network staff as appropriate.   20%
    • Collaborate with project leads to support planning field monitoring, including troubleshooting staffing changes, and assisting with team coordination and issue resolution.   20%
    • Help schedule check-in meetings with network staff, prepare agendas, capture notes, and track follow-up actions. Support cross-project coordination by identifying overlaps and conflicts.   20%
    • Communicate with counterparts in other regions, identifying shared priority needs and strategic multi-region opportunities for advancing adaptation strategies. Actively work with (and connect regional managers to) others in the NPS, Department, NGOs, Tribal governments, and other Federal agencies to coordinate adaptation actions across jurisdictions.   10%
    • Works with NPS staff on creating cooperative agreements and contracts related to ecosystem resilience and adaptation actions   10%
