What Youll Do
- Provide respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Monitor and wean patients from oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation.
- Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gas results.
- Perform electrocardiograms and other diagnostic procedures.
- Deliver intermittent respiratory therapy according to physician orders and established policies.
- Assist with changes to artificial airways.
- Document clinical information, educate patients and coworkers, and maintain current knowledge of technical procedures.
What You Need
Required- Associates degree.
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Computer proficiency for patient information entry and retrieval.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Preferred- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for trained therapists working in the NICU.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
