Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) – Contract Position

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)


Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care in an acute care setting. The role involves managing ventilatory support, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions
  • Initiate, monitor, and wean mechanical ventilation using lung-protective strategies
  • Perform and interpret ABGs, sputum collection, bedside spirometry, and capnography
  • Assist with intubations, bronchoscopies, and conscious sedation procedures
  • Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team (RRT) events
  • Provide oxygen therapy, high-flow systems, Heliox, and aerosolized medications
  • Manage airway care including tracheostomy, laryngectomy, and suctioning
  • Support and troubleshoot non-invasive ventilation therapies
  • Assist with patient transport within and outside the facility as needed
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute clinical expertise
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation, billing, and charge reconciliation
  • Ensure proper maintenance of respiratory equipment and supplies
  • Provide education, training, and preceptorship to staff and students
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in all interactions

Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Active Respiratory Therapy license (State of Massachusetts)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of critical care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
