• REQUIRED: 2+ years experience as a respiratory therapist, Associate of Science Degree, Current ARRT or NBRC registration, current RT licensure, and BLS certification from AHA
• Candidates that have neonatal intensive care experience would be a plus but it is not required
• Candidates that have experience working in a Trauma Level 2 facility would be a plus but it is not required
• OT billed after 48 hours

Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients. Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned. Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs. Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
• Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
• 2+ years experience as a respiratory therapist.
• Candidates that have experience working in a Trauma Level 2 facility would be a plus but it is not required.

Required Certification & Licensure

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT credential) registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current ARRT or NBRC registration.
• Current License - Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• Current RT licensure.
• BLS certification from AHA.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
• 2+ years experience as a respiratory therapist.
• Associate of Science Degree.
• Current ARRT or NBRC registration.
• Current RT licensure.
• BLS certification from AHA.
• Neonatal intensive care experience would be a plus but it is not required.
• Experience working in a Trauma Level 2 facility would be a plus but it is not required.
• OT billed after 48 hours.

Working Conditions

Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
