Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: NICU experience is required.

Required Credentials: STABLE is required only for NICU or travelers handling babies.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. The facility may make one-off exceptions if previously employed at the facility, but exceptions must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System. Block scheduling can be accommodated.

Unit Details: Treatment volume varies by season, with no more than 30 treatments per shift. Treatments are assigned by floor rather than points, and workload may be heavier at times. Patient population ranges from NICU to geriatrics and includes ICU, stepdown, Med-Surg, a pediatric unit, and a Level III NICU; there is no PICU and ventilator use is occasional. Coverage includes inpatient and ER areas. Daily work includes drawing and analyzing ABGs, breathing treatments, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator care, and possible assistance with bedside bronchoscopy. RTs assist with intubation and may place an LMA. Travelers may be assigned charge duties based on experience and willingness. Equipment includes Dräger ventilators, Cervo-NICU, Hamilton transport ventilator, Vapotherm, and Philips V60 and V30.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is available. Every other weekend is required. Holiday work is required when needed. Call or standby call is based on low census per contract.

Floating Requirements: Floating includes ICU, floors, NICU, and ER.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT
