Want to get paid to have fun this summer? If so, ChildServe Respite has the perfect summer-only opportunity for you! As a Summer Respite Assistant, you’ll provide personal care and supervision for children with special healthcare needs—out in the community and at our Ames location —while enjoying a rewarding and meaningful job during the summer months.

Summer seasonal Varying hours throughout the week and weekend opportunities

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Have fun with kids while their regular caregivers get a break
• Be creative while engaging children in activities
• Providecare at our Ames Campus and out in the community
• Receive ongoing training and supervision
• Great resume builder for those interested in social work, education, therapy, psychology, and nursing

What You’ll Need:

• Must be at least 16 years old to apply
• Those 18 and over must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver, if required. This includes passing a motor vehicle record check and car safety check and able to provide a valid driver’s license and insurance
• Ability to lift up-to 35 lbs. be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
