Italian Specialty Store Assistant Manager - DeLallo Italian Marketplace
DeLallo Italian Marketplace is looking for a motivated, organized, and experienced Italian Specialty Store Assistant Manager to help lead daily store operations and support our grocery, customer service, kitchen, deli, bakery, and made-to-order departments.

Position Summary
The Assistant Manager will support store leadership in the day-to-day operation of the Italian Marketplace. This position requires strong leadership skills, clear communication, good judgment, and the ability to direct employees to ensure departments are operating efficiently.
Assistant Managers are expected to help manage workflow, assign tasks, support training, monitor employee performance, address daily operational needs, and help maintain DeLallo's standards for quality, cleanliness, service, and presentation.
Schedule
This is a full-time management position that requires a strong commitment to store operations and business needs.
Management schedules may vary based on business needs, department needs, staffing, and seasonal demands.
Major holidays are off with pay.
Responsibilities
Assist with the daily operation of the Italian Marketplace
Lead, direct, and manage employees in grocery, customer service, kitchen, deli, bakery, and made-to-order areas
Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently
Help train, coach, and support team members
Monitor employee performance, productivity, and customer service standards
Support store opening, closing, stocking, merchandising, customer service, and daily workflow
Assist customers and help create a welcoming shopping experience
Support cash handling, register procedures, and transaction accuracy as needed
Monitor store conditions, product presentation, cleanliness, and organization
Support food safety, sanitation, quality, and company standards
Help ensure departments are properly staffed and prepared for business needs
Communicate with store leadership regarding staffing, inventory, customer concerns, and operational needs
Assist with problem-solving and maintaining a positive, productive work environment
Support holiday, weekend, and high-volume business needs
Qualifications
Previous retail, grocery, specialty food, restaurant, kitchen, customer service, or management experience preferred
Prior leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred
Cash handling skills preferred
Deli, bakery, and kitchen experience a plus
Ability to lead, direct, and hold employees accountable
Strong communication and decision-making skills
Dependable, professional, and organized
Strong customer service focus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift direction as business needs change
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and remain active throughout the shift
Comfortable working weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods
Must be available to work 6 days per week
Must be available to work every day from the Monday after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve
