The Retail Merchandiser will execute all merchandising activities in stores throughout the Aberdeen,MD area. Support the regional sales team ensuring merchandising excellence across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:Establish relationships with store personnel and department level supervisors to sustain and grow salesMaintain shelf Plan-O-Gram compliance working with store personnelUpsell promotional opportunities for displays and programsMerchandise, display and rotate products according to company standards and customer planograms.Assist in resets, new store openings, setting up displays and end caps, and implementing company initiatives and promotionsIdentify merchandising challenges and offer store specific solutions using brands in accordance with brand standardsRe-tag shelves and set up point of sale materialHelp pack out shelvesRemove discontinued items and proactively place authorized itemCheck codes and rotate product at store levelComplete a weekly highlight reportVoid closures for team identified itemsAttend regular sales meetings and special events Customer Service:Establish and maintain customer rapport by providing outstanding customer service; follow up on commitments and call on all assigned accountsAssist Sales Manager's as requiredOffer assistance, recommend items, offer expertise in support of Retailer successCarry out daily tasks assigned by ManagerCommunicate all competitive changes or opportunities to ManagerDemonstrate a positive attitude at all times, embrace all types of personalities at retail Qualifications and Skills:Effective communication skills, both written and oralAbility to understand and interpret merchandising tools and visual directionDemonstrate a passion for customer serviceAbility to prioritize and multitask with a sense of urgencyStrong time management and organizational skillsProficient computer skills- MS Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookValid Driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to operate a two or four-wheel dollyMust have the ability to lift, pull and push 50+ pounds. Repetitive reaching over head, standing, walking, kneeling and bendingAbility to use a personal digital assistant (PDA) Experience:Grocery store products experience required.
