Retail Sales Associate

Summary

The International Spy Museum is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to support our fun, fast-paced museum gift shop, which sells a unique assortment of Spy apparel, books, gadgets, toys and souvenirs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, thrives in a busy setting, and has a passion for customer service. Retail Sales Associates engage with guests of all ages and play a key role in creating a memorable shopping experience on the sales floor and at the register.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge all guests entering the store, always providing service excellence.
• Actively engage guests in product-oriented conversations, answer questions, and make product recommendations to support sales goals.
• Operate the point-of-sale and accurately process purchases at the register, following all cash handling procedures.
• Support replenishment efforts by stocking and retrieving merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Maintain the appearance of the sales floor through stocking, straightening, and ensuring accurate signage.
• Routinely clean the sales floor, including counters and fixtures.
• Assist with visual merchandising and displays as directed.
• Participate in loss prevention efforts and alert leadership to low inventory levels or discrepancies.
• Observe scheduled shifts, maintain punctuality and follow all attendance and appearance policies.
• Assist with annual physical inventory.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School degree required.
• 1 year of retail, hospitality, or customer-facing experience.
• Proven ability to operate a cash register and count back change.

Special Considerations

This is a seasonal, hourly position. We hire for our peak Spring Break and Summer seasons. At the end of the Summer, if there is mutual interest, there may be an opportunity to extend employment beyond August.
