Retail Sales Representative
Location: S. San Francisco
Starting pay $24/ hour
Day Shift 40 hours a week
Are you passionate about helping customers bring their projects to life? We are seeking a customer-focused Retail Sales Representative to assist homeowners, contractors, designers, and industry professionals with product selection, design recommendations, and project solutions.
The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, delivering exceptional customer service, and guiding clients through the sales process from initial consultation to project completion. This role combines sales, customer service, and product knowledge to create a positive and seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist with product selection and purchasing decisions.
- Provide product recommendations based on customer needs, project requirements, and design preferences.
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, designers, builders, and other industry professionals.
- Stay current on product offerings, features, and industry trends.
- Process sales orders, invoices, customer pickups, and backorders accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate with customers regarding order status, product availability, and project updates.
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout every stage of the sales process.
- Maintain showroom appearance, product displays, and sample organization.
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory management activities.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and performance metrics.
- Maintain an organized workspace and complete administrative duties accurately.
- Participate in team meetings and sales initiatives.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Operational Support
Depending on business needs, this position may assist with:
- Order entry and customer order management.
- Shipping, receiving, staging, packing, and inventory handling.
- Customer service support functions.
- Warehouse and showroom operations.
- General branch support activities.
- Adherence to workplace safety practices and procedures.
Qualifications
- Design-related education is a plus.
- 1-2 years of retail sales, showroom sales, customer service, or related experience.
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
- Professional verbal, written, and computer communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to customer service and sales.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to support various business functions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building materials, flooring, interior design, home improvement, construction products, or related industries.
- Knowledge of design principles, color coordination, and product application.
- Showroom sales experience.
- Bilingual Spanish skills.
- Experience working with contractors, designers, builders, or other trade professionals.
