Revenue Operations Accountant II

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Revenue Accountant II to support the Revenue Operations team. This role will assist with calculating revenue, applying cash payments to invoices, reconciling data across systems, and generally maintaining the integrity between the subledger and general ledger.

The ideal candidate is highly data-savvy, comfortable working with large datasets, and experienced in translating billing and operational data into accurate financial entries. This role will report to the Director of Revenue and partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Power Markets, and external billing providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and analyze revenue-related data from multiple systems.
• Accurately enter revenue-related data into the appropriate systems.
• Track cash collections and apply payments to specific invoices.
• Leverage revenue dashboards to ensure all invoices have been generated, and all payments have been applied.
• Support revenue recognition activities in accordance with ASC 606 and company accounting policies.
• Review revenue data for completeness and accuracy, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues as needed.
• Assist with preparing recurring revenue reports, dashboards, and key performance metrics.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules, as well as through data validation and reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT, to support reporting initiatives.
• Assist in documenting reporting processes, data definitions, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with reconciling data between ERP systems, billing platforms, and reporting tools.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses to support Finance, Revenue Accounting, and business leaders.
• Help maintain data integrity by identifying opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and consistency.
• Support system implementations, reporting enhancements, and continuous process improvement projects.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Become a subject matter expert and work to continuously improve processes.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Economics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Two to four (2-4) years of experience in data analytics, finance, accounting, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis functions.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred

• Internship or co-op experience in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or Business Analytics.
• Basic knowledge of SQL or experience querying databases.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Interest in financial reporting, revenue analytics, and data visualization.
• Experience in the renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure industry is a plus.

Experience
