    About Arcticom, LLC

    Arcticom, LLC provides network and systems administration, enterprise architecture and resource planning, certification and accreditation, software design, programming, maintenance of telecommunications and land mobile radio equipment and systems, help desk support and IT transformation services among other services.

    About this position: RF Technician                    Location – Anchorage, AK

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Install and service UHF/VHF, DAS, microwave, and other wireless communication systems.
    • Program basic and mid-level code plugs for two-way radios and related equipment.
    • Perform mobile radio installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
    • Recommend appropriate equipment and solutions to meet customer needs.
    • Support the sales process through technical expertise and customer communications.
    • Some regional travel and on-call hours are required.

     

    Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

    Education Requirements: Associate degree in Electronics or IT (or equivalent experience).

    Level of Experience Requirements:

    • Hands-on experience installing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing RF equipment and two-way radio systems.
    • Valid Driver’s License.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

    • Proficiency in RF system configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    • Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical

     

    Preferred

    • RF Certification (e.g., ETA, NARTE, or equivalent).
    • IP networking experience.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

     

    DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements

    • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

     

    Necessary Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift 60+ lbs., work at heights up to 150 ft, and operate lifts/forklifts.

    Physical Setting: Office environment with periodic customer site visits and field work.

    Schedule and Flexibility: Standard hours (8am to 5pm) with occasional after-hours, on-call, and travel to remote or field locations.

    Other Pertinent Work Details: Drug screen, MVR, and background checks required. BSNC Shareholder Preference applies.

     

    Additional Qualifying Factors

    As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
