SUMMARY:

Under moderate supervision set up and install tooling, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production problems with all reaction injection molded products. Adjust machinery and auxiliary equipment to eliminate flaws. Identify product, tooling, and equipment defects by verify all processing parameters and then fixing problems or notify notifying the proper departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Adherence to established safety policies, procedures, and practices
  • Supports the organization's efforts toward continuous improvement
  • Supports the organization's goals and values
  • Demonstrates teamwork by collaborating with others to improve overall standards of performance and service
  • Troubleshoot any molding, machine, or assembly problems that may arise (i.e., quality, excessive scrap rate and defective parts).
  • Responsible for all start-ups, shutdowns, and tool cleanings.
  • Learn proper molding, trimming, assembly, and material handling techniques and be willing to train and perform them as needed.
  • Perform daily checks to ensure correct cycle and processing parameters on all machines.
  • Assist with process improvements and optimization.
  • Assist with making tooling recommendations.
  • Assist with material trials.
  • Assist with and perform color changes as needed.
  • Responsible for completing mold set ups and the tool storage areas.
  • Responsible for programming robots.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic knowledge of material descriptions, molding operations including mold set-ups and, water hook-ups and hydraulic operations.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Very good knowledge of pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical operations.
  • Must be a dependable self starter.
  • Excellent knowledge of plant and machine safety.
  • Must be able to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified by the Production Supervisor and Engineering.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advance notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $27.00
