Position Highlights:
Position Overview:
The focus of this position is managing anticoagulation therapy. This involves adjusting medication dosage based on the INR lab results, developing peri-operative plans for medication interruption, responding to critical lab values and counseling patients on a full range of issues pertaining to anticoagulation. This includes indication for therapy, laboratory tests for monitoring, signs and symptoms of hemorrhagic or thromboembolic complications, dietary interactions, alcohol consumption, medication interactions and how underlying medical conditions affect anticoagulation therapy. The Anticoagulation Clinic Nurse will assist anticoagulated patients both in the office and via telephone management to assist maintaining a safe and therapeutic dosing regimen of warfarin.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the assessment, dosing and plan of care for those patients taking anticoagulation medications
Manage office responsibilities which include documentation, records, and patient outreach
Experience and Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
2 years of experience in an acute care setting or specific anticoagulation management

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of 25.94- 38.91, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
